0.5 % Forever: Sitting In The Fridge Made Him A Millionaire
He sat down inside the “refrigerator” and shut himself in…
Some minutes ago as they all gathered to watch the fast hands of the boys who were really good at the video game, Terry noted that one of the pads had an inscription underneath and he wondered what that inscription meant. He wondered but could not move close since he could not play the game as good as other more skilled players.
While he stood there a thought flashed through his mind, “who are the makers of this video game?” And as he pondered over this question without a definite answer, a second thought surfaced, “what problem has this video game solved for the original creator?” He dwelt on this second question, and without announcing his exit, left the crowded room and walked into the coldest room in the basement of the building nicknamed ‘refrigerator’ by Grandma.
Terry’s Grandmother hated the ‘refrigerator’ because the low temperature of the room nearly froze her to death the first day she visited the family and was lodged in there. She had to shout for help around 12 midnight before she was taken to another room which she called ‘cupboard.’
Grandmother had a name for everybody and every room she ever entered. Terry sat down inside the ‘refrigerator’ and began to give attention to the second question “what problem has this video game solved for the original creator?” In about 30 minutes of thinking and searching through his mind for possible answers he came up with three different possibilities: “it has helped him pass his exams: the game is the result of a school project for examination” “it has made him wealthy, since the game is being sold” “it would have made him popular since it must have given him access to places and people.”
Then he began to weigh these possible answers and after another 40 minutes of reasoning, he felt comfortable with the option that “it might have helped him pass his exams since the game was a school project for examination.” So, he focused his attention on what the examination could be. For the next thirty eight minutes, he kept thinking but only had faint ideas of such examinations that could lead to the creation of a video game which now attracts a crowd of players and watchers who are all being entertained. Terry began to admire this unknown creator – “how intelligent he must be,” he thought to himself as he nodded and took a deep breath inside the ‘fridge.’ Meanwhile the boys had finished with the video game and were in search of Terry.
From the fridge he heard the sound of their movement and yells with the banging of room doors, and knowing that he could be discovered with the possible termination of this inspiration moment, he stood up and moved into the ‘freezer.’ Grandma called the wardrobe a freezer because of an experience she had in the wardrobe on her arrival which she said would be shared on her birthday coming up in 12 days.
Henry in the company of two other boys opened the door to check if Terry was there but on seeing no one he banged the door and continued the search with the others boys who were now moving into all the rooms. Now sitting in the ‘freezer’ all alone, he continued imagining the examination and the project that led to the creation of this video game. Then all of a sudden, after about 48 minutes of sitting alone to reason out the answer, a light appeared to him – within the depth of his innermost being an inspiration began to unfold and he could hear it clearly in this most quiet moment of his life:
“you can be a blessing to millions of people around the world daily”
On hearing this inspired statement, he quickly but quietly asked himself “but how?” Then he heard another inspirational response, “a Project!” At this point he kept quiet, and for the next 79 seconds fixed his attention on what he had just heard. Then this was followed by another inspiration which came to him in the ‘freezer:’
“The Project is to create a solution to the problem of a big company that can impact the world within a short time.”
Surprised and knowing that he had not discovered what solution it could be nor known the definite problem of any company that needed solutions, he applied his mind to a greater degree of quietness and meditation so as to get hold of this idea which he now felt would also come as an inspiration. And for another 63 minutes he sat alone with his paper and pen thinking, reasoning and meditating. He was weighing each thought that came as he patiently waited for the inspiration which seemed to come at its own chosen pace and time. He could not force the inspiration so he waited for it. Another 14 minutes passed and all of a sudden… Bam!!!
After about 233 minutes (3 hours 53minutes) he walked out of the ‘freezer’ with an idea that would solve the problem of a multi-national company. He separated himself to think and would be separated from his mates forever… (to be continued)….
